Kelby McIntyre-Martinez draws upon years of experience as an arts educator, choreographer, and director in the field of Theatre for Young Audiences. Mrs. McIntyre-Martinez received her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Youth Theatre from the University of Hawai'i Manoa. She has done extensive collaborative work with school districts, universities and non-profit organizations to create quality educational fine arts programs for youth that are more inclusive and accessible to the greater community. Mrs. McIntyre-Martinez is currently the Program Director of Professional Development at the University of Utah for the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program where she works with 62 elementary schools across the Wasatch Front to provide professional development support and model best practices in the field of arts education and integration to classroom teachers and art specialists. Mrs. McIntyre-Martinez works in partnership with University Neighborhood Partners at the Hartland Youth Center to provide a year-round youth theatre and dance education program. She is adjunct faculty in the Department of Theatre at the University of Utah and is an active board member for the Dance and the Child International's (daCi) Utah Day of Dance, the Utah Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and for the Spy Hop Institute for Teachers. As she assumes her new role as Assistant Dean of Arts Education and Community Engagement, Mrs. McIntyre-Martinez is honored to have the opportunity to continue to work in partnership with esteemed colleagues from the College of Fine Arts.
