Alum Connor Rickman to premiere film at Philadelphia Independent Film Festival 2022

“The Whole Lot,” a self-financed feature-length drama from Utah writer Matthew Ivan Bennett and College of Fine Arts alumnus Connor Rickman, will have its world premiere on closing night of the 2022 Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, Saturday June 11th 2022, 5:45pm at SeraPhi Studios: the festival’s main screening venue.

Connor Rickman is a graduate of both the University of Utah Department of Theatre (HBA '12) and Department of Film & Media Arts (BA '12) programs.Rickman3

The film stars fellow Theatre alums Sarah McLoney and Aaron Kramer, in addition to Blake Webb. The film was shot in 5 days on location in the Snyderville Basin in Summit County, Utah and was a recipient of the Utah Film Commission’s Next Level Grant. It follows Della (McLoney), her husband Eli (Webb), and her estranged brother Jamie (Kramer) as they meet to divide their late father’s estate and are forced to confront an uncomfortable past. 

Matthew Ivan Bennett and Connor Rickman previously collaborated on the short film “B+A,” which played in the Fearless Filmmaking section of the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival and was named Best Short Film in City Weekly’s Best of Utah Arts in 2016.

Rickman is also the Director of Overcranked Pictures, a Salt Lake-based Production Services company providing insurance, contracting, and accounting for local independent filmmakers.
