Connor grew up in Alaska before moving from the forests of the Last Frontier to the deserts of Southern Utah, where he graduated from Southern Utah University with a B.S. in Family Life and Human Development, and minor in Family Services. Passionate about education and empowering individuals, Connor has progressed through roles as a SPED Interventionist, Registered Behavior Technician, Writing Tutor, and Teaching Assistant, now coming on five years of experience in higher education. As an academic advisor in the College of Fine Arts, he is excited to combine his love for education and the arts while helping students navigate the opportunities, challenges, and possibilities of their college experience. Off campus, Connor enjoys reading, playing piano, traveling whenever possible, and any excuse for a sweet treat.
Advising Philosophy:
I see my role as an academic advisor to be a holistic supporter and advocate for students as they navigate the complexities higher education can present. I strive to help students understand and connect to the resources and opportunities available to them. Every student has an individual trajectory, and my approach centers on supporting the whole learner. Ultimately, I am motivated to help students recognize their potential while empowering them to define what success means for themselves and providing the support they need to pursue it.
