College of Fine Arts Open Houses

Explore our departments and schools to learn about our offerings on Friday, October 24th from 3-5pm.

ART & ART HISTORY 

Tour the Department of Art & Art History (ART Building) and Gittins Gallery (Film & Media Arts Building), meet current students and faculty members, and create your own artwork in the studio! As you connect with faculty and students, explore Gelli Plate Printing, a playful process that layers color, stencils, and textures to create unique designs. Collaborate with family, friends, and the campus community while experiencing the creative energy of the department.

DANCE

Join us in the lobby of the iconic Marriott Center for Dance at 3:20pm for a short meet & greet followed by a 3:30pm backstage tour where you can explore our state-of-the art theatre and costume shop. From 4-5pm, families are invited to step into one of our beautiful dance studios to observe in-process rehearsals for an upcoming concert.

FILM & MEDIA ARTS

Join the Department of Film & Media Arts in the Film & Media Arts Building (FMAB) from 3-5pm for refreshments, screenings of student works, and private tours by request of our newly renovated and state-of-the-art spaces offered by departmental representatives.

MUSIC

The School of Music welcomes everyone to a behind-the-scenes look at rehearsals of our Wind Ensemble (Room 272 in David Gardner Hall) and Opera company (Vocal Arts Center / “Voice Box”). Join Dr. Shelton (Associate Director of the School of Music), Dr. Jason Missal (Director of Bands), and Prof. James Bobick (Visiting Assistant Professor of Opera) for an afternoon of musical enjoyment.

THEATRE

Join Department of Theatre Chair Chris DuVal for a hosted tour of the Scenography Lab in Babcock Theatre from 3-3:30pm before walking to the Price Theatre Arts Building (PTAB) for a guided tour at 3:40pm of the Musical Theatre Studio – Showcase Preparation in PTAB 110. We invite you to stay for light refreshments on conversation with our faculty in the PTAB Lobby from 4:10-5pm.
