Film & Media Arts Assistant Professor Gretchen Jude’s research shines in the international spotlight:
- On 4/4, "XiXi," a film she composed the soundtrack for, premieres in Tokyo at Eurospace.
- On 5/7, Jude's audio work will be presented in the European Geosciences Union conference in Vienna premier of the “Flow" project through "Cities and Memory," a global field recording project.
- This summer, thanks to the U’s 2026 Faculty Small Research Grant, Jude will continue archival and field research on women artists in Japan — specifically the geisha media stars of the early- and mid-20th century — aiming toward completing her monograph on the subject.
