As part of the U’s Black History Month with the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR), Associate Professor Joselli Deans will give a virtual presentation titled, “Your Line of Inquiry from Lived Experience: Researching Blacks in Ballet."
As a former professional Black ballet dancer who rarely saw representation of artists like herself in ballet documentation, Professor Deans wanted more details about the legacy she was part of. This virtual presentation will share some of her discoveries, the methods she used to find the information, and the personal growth she experienced while researching something so personal.
