Prof. Kiri Avelar co-presented at the "Digital Humanities Utah Symposium" at Weber State University with Katherine Boyce (Modern BFA '26), Sean Sullivan (Modern BFA '26, Enviro. and Sustain. Studies minor '26), and Michelle Manzanales (Modern MFA '27) on "Mapping from Below: SIGuache Methodologies for Re-storying Dance Histories," where students presented their digital cartographies on Tina Ramirez, Carmelita Tropicana, and Evelyn Cisneros.
