Department of Art & Art History’s Professor (Lecturer) Maureen O’Hara Ure gave a talk titled, "Travel Sketchbooks: One Painter's Practice,” at the Alta Club as part of their Speaker Series. For each talk, a professional is invited to engage with members and guests in an intimate setting on the last Wednesday of each month.
O'Hara Ure’s talk was centered on 23+ years of her experience which includes her travel sketchbooks and various other projects that have been underwritten by University Faculty Creative Research grants.
At the end, audience members were invited to thumb through dozens of her sketchbooks, including several from O'Hara Ure's three most recent trips to Spain (see her book, "Thirty Days in Spain").
