Department of Art & Art History students enrolled in Urban Artworks Art #4185 at the University of Utah, under the guidance of Professor V. Kim Martinez, recently shared their creative mural designs with the mayor, city council, and community members at Murray City Hall.
The students presented a range of concepts for an innovative mural for the newly renovated Murray Theatre. These proposals demonstrated creativity and a meaningful connection to the community, showcasing the skills and vision of these emerging artists.
The city exhibited the artwork at the Murray Museum for several days, allowing community members and leaders to share thoughts on the mural’s theme, which reflects local hopes and dreams.
The class will begin painting this mural design on Friday, September 26, working each Friday from 9:40 to 3:55 until December.
