Department of Art & Art History Professor V. Kim Martinez is making international and local headlines with her artwork:
- Starting 10/25, Martinez’s work, “Weep Holes,” will appear as one of the works in Artnauts’ latest exhibition, “Shelter,” at Tito’s World War II bunker, ARK DO, in Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Martinez received the "2025 Visual Artist Award” for her painting, “Panic Around the Lake,” which was bestowed upon by the Friends of Great Salt Lake - Alfred Lambourne Arts Program.
- GREENbike, Utah's only nonprofit bike share, selected a painting from Martinez’s "7 Steps Forward Seven Steps Back: Bio Power” series to showcase on their e-bikes. "7 Steps" was motivated by Martinez’s experience traveling the historic routes of Mexican and Native American migrants along what is now the U.S.–Mexico border.
