Professor Yee Sien Ang, from the Film and Media Arts Department at the University of Utah Asia Campus, was recently selected to participate in the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) 2025—one of Asia’s premier events for creative producers, media professionals, and content innovators. Her original work, Viral Lovers, was among only six projects chosen for the Series Themed Session: If Romance Comes Again, highlighting her creative excellence and international engagement in the evolving Asian media landscape.
In early November, throughout the multi-day event, Professor Ang engaged in intensive training sessions, one-on-one consultations, and business meetings with global media professionals from companies such as SLL (formerly JTBC Studios) and Formosa Studios. She gained valuable insights into international co-production strategies, pitching practices, and cross-cultural content development between Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, and beyond.
Her experience not only strengthened her professional development but also directly enriched her teaching within the Film and Media Arts program at the U Asia Campus. Bringing back first-hand knowledge of emerging industry trends—such as content globalization, streaming-era storytelling, and regional co-production models—Professor Ang continues to bridge professional practice and academic learning, inspiring students to think globally while creating locally.
“Participating in TCCF gave me a front-row seat to how Asian content is evolving and competing on the world stage. It’s not just about producing stories—it’s about understanding the ecosystem that connects creators, platforms, and audiences across borders,” said Professor Ang.
Her insights are already making an impact in the classroom, particularly in FILM 3945 Producing & Writing TV, where students conducted their own pitch sessions inspired by industry standards.
Professor Ang’s participation in TCCF underscores the University of Utah Asia Campus’s growing presence in the international creative community and its commitment to nurturing industry-ready talent. By fostering opportunities for professional engagement and transnational collaboration, the Film and Media Arts program continues to position itself as a vibrant hub for next-generation storytellers in Asia.
