Karineh Hovsepian has over 30 years of experience working in financial management, having launched her career at a “Big Eight” international public accounting firm. After several years of financial consulting and auditing, serving companies from a variety of industries with combined annual revenues of over $1 billion, she ventured into self-employment for eight years as a Financial Consultant, working primarily with public entities, non-profits, and small business start-ups.

Karineh began her career at the University of Utah in 1999 at the Compliance Accounting department, followed by four years as the Production Accountant at KUED, where she further developed her commitment to public service and the arts. She moved into her current role leading business affairs at the College of Fine Arts in 2006.

Karineh is an Armenian immigrant from Iran and raised in Honolulu since the age of four years. She studied Theater and Physics at the University of Hawaii, then Political Sociology at UCLA before moving to Utah with her husband. Karineh then earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with an emphasis in Financial Information Systems from the University of Utah and is a Certified Public Accountant.

In addition to all art forms and other creative expression, Karineh’s passions include social justice, theoretical physics and astronomy, feminism, breastfeeding advocacy, hiking, running, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, and, once upon a time, belly dancing. Her self-proclaimed greatest accomplishment, however, is in raising two remarkable human beings into compassionate, strong, kind, contributing adults, each of whom thankfully possesses a large capacity for humor.
