Permission Code Guide

A permission code is a four to six digit random number issued by the instructor or department to enroll in a specific class. Permission codes can only be used once, and are required when a class is full, after the open add period has ended (see Academic Calendar here), if there is a time conflict, registering for a class outside your career of study, or when the department has restricted enrollment. The Advising Team does not and cannot give out permission codes. Please see the following for the permission code process:

 Department of Art & Art History

Subject:  ART, ARTH, ARTX/FA, BART, CERM, DESGR, DRAW, PHOTO, PRINT, SCLPT

If Instructor permission is needed, please forward that to  
Requests for Art History should be directed to the Instructor of the course.
After the course has started, permission code requests should go to the Instructor of the course.

 School of Dance Subject: BALLE, DANC

 Department of Film & Media Arts Subject: FILM
Permission code requests should go to the Instructor of the course. If a course is full, please join the course Waitlist and ask for a permission code from the Instructor during week 2. If you meet a prerequisite in an alternative way (i.e., approved transfer credit), please email Paula Lee
 School of Music

Subject: MUSC
Please visit School of Music Undergraduate Class Permission Code Requests.

Department of Theatre  Subject: THEA
Permission code requests should go to the Instructor of the course. If there is no Instructor listed, please contact Jessica Dudley-Rodriguez.

 

Once you have obtained your permission code, log in to the Campus Information Services, click on the "Registration" tile on your Student Homepage,  click on the "Add Class" link, choose the term, and then enter the "class number" or find the class by using the "class search". Select the class and enter the permission number/code in the permission number field.
