Samantha Wisell
Samantha has found deep fulfillment and joy in her own evolving career journey and is passionate about helping students to build the foundation to do the same. She has always enjoyed learning about humans and being in a position of impact and support. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Utah, she started her career working in residential treatment and then provided intensive in-home interventions with families and youth. She went on to complete a master’s degree in School Counseling and served as a high school counselor for nine years.
Her approach to career coaching is rooted in empowering students with practical tools and resources to make informed decisions that align with their goals and identity. She learns alongside students, celebrates creativity and progress, and offers supportive guidance through challenges, transitions, and moments of uncertainty.

Trevor Bird
When Trevor isn't taking in a play or exploring a museum, you can find him at U Career Success, helping students from the College of Fine Arts explore meaningful and fulfilling career paths. Drawing on his background in corporate recruiting, Trevor brings insight from the hiring side to help students like you navigate the job search with confidence. He hopes to coach you through resumes crafting, cover letter writing, and interview skilling to help lead you to the next step in your professional journey.
Originally from sunny Southern California, Trevor moved to Utah for BYU where he studied Recreation Management and Youth Leadership with a minor in World Dance. During his undergrad, he worked on campus as a First Year Mentor for the Office of First Year Experience and then as a Peer Advisor for University Advisement and Careers. Post grad, Trevor gained experience from working in various industries, from event planning and hospitality to human resources and recruiting. He understands that it’s normal to feel uncertain about what comes next after graduation and is committed to listening, supporting, and helping students identify their options, through career exploration or actively applying to jobs and internships.
Trevor’s coaching philosophy is rooted in taking action instead of being acted upon. The unknown can lead to executive dysfunction or decision paralysis, and his goal is to help ease your fears and champion you in your career choices. The more confidence you have to make a choice and take action, the less anxiety you will feel.
