Development Specialist Andrea Ashdown has experienced a diverse and fulfilling career as an active musician working to support arts and nonprofit organizations. As an educator, she taught at an international school in Frankfurt, Germany and at Sistema Utah, a music nonprofit in a Title I elementary school. She also helped to curate and operate the Summer Film Series at Sundance Institute in Park City, UT and worked on the American Red Cross’s Greater Salt Lake Area development team. As a musician, she regularly performs with the Ballet West Orchestra and the Utah Symphony and has toured extensively across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. She is proud to join the College of Fine Arts at the U and advocate for its stellar community of artists and arts lovers.
A native of Brigham City, UT, Andrea received both of her degrees in violin performance — her Bachelor of Music with Academic Honors from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and her Master of Music from the Juilliard School. She can often be found on a hike in Utah’s beautiful nature with her husband Will and pup Zuzu.
