Liz, as she prefers to be called, has over 15 years of experience in student services at the University of Utah. As Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs, she coordinates College of Fine Arts undergraduate services, including academic advising. She advises the Student Advisory Committee chairs and Fine Arts Fees Grant Funding committee. In 2012, with a group of student leaders, Liz launched the award-winning program ArtsForce. Each year, she hires College of Fine Arts undergraduate student as Emerging Leaders Interns to create and implement programs that promote the value of arts degree in our modern workforce and the value of arts in our society.

Liz serves as the College of Fine Arts OEO/Title IX Liaison. In this roll she assists the Title IX Coordinator in the University's efforts to address issues of sex discrimination, including preventing and appropriately responding to sexual misconduct issues in compliance with federal laws such as Title IX, the Campus SaVE Act of the Violence Against Women Act, and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. In 2009, Liz completed her Ph.D. in Communication at the University of Utah, where she focused her studies on undergraduate student socialization in higher education, social justice, and intercultural communication. She is a former recipient of the University of Utah Diversity Award, Philip and Miriam Perlman Award for Excellence in Student Counseling and Advising, and the Beacons of Excellence Award.
