The College of Fine Arts is excited to welcome Brittany Nelson as its new Finance and Operations Officer. Nelson takes the reins from the UMFA Chief Financial Officer, Darrin Robertson, who served the college during the search for Adam Pfost’s replacement in the Dean’s Office.

“I am extremely grateful as I begin this journey with the College of Fine Arts,” Nelson said. “Working at Utah Games has been an amazing experience, but I am looking forward to new challenges and opportunities. I am very excited to get to know my new colleagues as we all contribute to the success of the college.”

With more than a decade of experience in accounting and finance, Nelson has spent six years in various roles at the University of Utah, including her most recent position as Manager of Accounting and Finance at Utah Games. She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from California State University, Sacramento, and her MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, reading, and cooking, as well as outdoor activities like hiking and horseback riding. Nelson grew up in California and moved to Utah in 2017.

“We are fortunate to have Brittany’s experience, expertise, knowledge of our institution in service of the College of Fine Arts,” said Dean John Scheib. “And I sincerely thank our search committee for their excellent work in helping us complete this important search.”
