Professor Barlow Bradford (Music), Visiting Assistant Professor Eric Schmidt (Music), and accompanist Xiaoyu Zhang toured Italy with the School of Music’s Chamber Choir through Infinity Tours + Events' "Elevated Concert Series" as European Grand Prix for Choral Singing Champions. Performances were held at Basilica di San Fedele, University of Bologna, Chiesa di San Giovanni Evangelista, the Pantheon, and Basilica de Santa Pudenziana.

  • May 8th – First two days in Italy are a wrap! We’ve performed in the STUNNING La Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta in Como, enjoyed a ferry ride across the lake to Bellagio, and, of course, have indulged in some wonderful Italian food together. 😋
  • May 10th – Saying addio to beautiful Como and Milano and buongiorno soon to Firenze aka Florence!We were honored yesterday to not only perform in the Basilica di San Fedele (our first formal concert of the tour), but to do so in the presence of @antognini_antognini himself. Chamber sang his works “Jubilate Deo” and “Canticum Novum”.Thank you to Mr. Antognini for coming to see us and thank you to the staff of the Basilica for hosting, as well as for their historical gifts to the choir afterwards.
  • May 11th – Dinner and a show — just the way we like it!Our second formal performance is in the books! This time, with the incredible @collegium.unibo. Thank you for having us and thank you to @unibo for hosting!Tomorrow? Off to our beautiful Tuscan villa! 🤩
  • May 12th – Buonasera from Riparbella, Tuscany! ⛰️ Today, we arrived at our beautiful villa complex in the Tuscan countryside, had an unofficial chamber choir pool party, and topped it all off with a 3-course meal at Bistrot 1986.Vineyards and custom pizzas await us in the morning! Stay tuned 🍇🍕
  • May 16th – Today we had the honor of welcoming @uofu_choirs in the beautiful setting of the Cathedral of Massa Lubrense, in the heart of the Sorrento Peninsula.A special stop on their journey through Italy, made unforgettable by the beauty of their singing and the harmony of their voices.Thank you for stopping by and for giving us a moment of true emotion.
  • May 18th – O Sole Mio and more! Thanks to the wonderful members of the Chiesa San Giovanni Evangelista for hosting our performance in Riparbella. Wonderful job to the soloist and local choir as well! We really enjoyed impromptu singing with you as well 🎵
