Assistant Professors, Miriam Albert-Sobrino (Film) and Sonia Albert-Sobrino (Film), known as the ALSO Sisters, are garnering significant success at film festivals this autumn.
Their second feature film, "No Man is an Island," is a Semifinalist in "Imagine This Women's International Film Festival - Imagine This Women's Film Festival 2024," a Quarterfinalist in "ScreenCraft Film Fund Fall 2024," and a Quarterfinalist in "Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards Season 9."
The world premiere of their short film, “The Unbearing,” is a product they directed, photographed, and edited. Alumna Terri Dia Zitong (Film '24) served as First Assistant Camera and Lana Ballenot (Film '24) contributed as Additional VFX Artist. "The Unbearing" will be screened at TCL Chinese Theatres in Los Angeles this October at the prestigious SCREAMFEST Horror Film Festival.
