The Department of Art & Art History will celebrate autumn and art at ARToberFest, Thursday October 17 from 4p to 8p in the Art Building Courtyard and Gittins Gallery Courtyard. Complete with art activities, live music, games, and refreshments, the celebration aims to unite students from all areas of study, as well as the broader campus community. 

ARToberFest will feature booths by the department's various and vibrant student clubs: 

  • Painting and Drawing Club
  • Art History Club
  • Book Arts
  • Art Teaching
  • Printmaking
  • Sculpture & Graphic Design (AIGA) Club

Activities will include a sidewalk chalk contest, tie-die socks, temporary tattoos, bead making, photo ops, and more. 

The live musicians at the event include:

  • Downtown Hound (formed by MFA candidate Adam Smith) | @downtown__hound_801

As an added bonus, the newly opened exhibition of Tony Smith and Sam Wilson will be open for attendees to visit.
